Knox Athletics Recognizes Maksim Vukcevic ’23
The Knox Athletics Department is shining a spotlight on Senior Maksim Vukcevic from Kotor, Montenegro. Captain of the Boys’ Varsity Basketball team, Maksim brings positive energy, aggressive defense strategies, and a strong desire to mentor younger players to reach success on the court. His goal for the Falcon’s season is to win the Private School Athletic Association (PSAA) league championships before he graduates Knox and begins his athletics career in college.
Maksim is not just a standout on the Knox court, he is a recognized athlete in our local community. This fall, he competed against over 100 players from local high schools to earn a coveted spot on the Suffolk County team at the 12th Annual Alzheimer’s All-Star Basketball Classic. This event has grown to be one of the largest Alzheimer’s and Dementia fundraising competitions in our area featuring Boy and Girl All-Star Games and Competitions with the best high school players in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Not only does Maksim excel on the basketball team, but he also maintains a strong academic record and is actively involved in his campus community. Maksim is Co-Captain of the Red Team, is currently a member of the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, the Rho Kappa History Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, and was tapped for acceptance into the National Art Honor Society. Upon graduation from Knox, he hopes to study Sports Management and Business at a college or university on the East Coast, USA.
Best of luck to you, Maksim. The sky is the limit!
