Donna Pergola

By June 24, 2021 August 9th, 2021 Faculty Spotlight

Donna Pergola joined The Knox School’s faculty in 2015 as an English Teacher with great ambition and endless energy. Her enthusiasm for her position and the empowerment of her students afforded her the opportunity to not only rise to the level of Department Chair and Director of College Counseling but to fulfill her dream of becoming Dean of Academics, beginning in the 2020/2021 School Year. Congratulations to Mrs. Pergola on this amazing achievement!

During her tenure at Knox, Mrs. Pergola – or “Mama P” as her students lovingly refer to her, led the charge in several student leadership organizations. She is the adviser for the Semper ad Lucem Chapter of the National Honor Society, The National English Honor Society, and will advise the Knox Student Council for the 2021 school year and beyond. Allowing Knox to shine in a public setting, Mrs. Pergola successfully gained approval for Knox to become an official SAT testing site.

Mrs. Pergola’s stellar teaching record, pedigree, and passion for curriculum design have allowed Knox’s English Department to offer three college-level courses through SUNY Stony Brook’s ACE Program and SUNY Suffolk County Community College’s Beacon Program. She also introduced an English Capstone course and pushed students to great heights in AP and Honors English classes.

Mrs. Pergola is an integral part of the Knox faculty, Knox Administration Team, and the community at large. In her free time, she is completing her Doctoral education at Capella University, is a proud mother and wife, and an avid sports fan. Go, Giants! Go, Mets! Go, Rangers & Nets!

Thank you, Mrs. Pergola, for sharing your gift, and yourself, with our Knox Community!

Mrs. Pergola joined by National Honor Society & Student Council President Trevor Hubbard ’21 at the 2021 Semper ad Lucem Ceremony.
