Zijian (Simon) Ju ’21

By May 17, 2021 Student Spotlight

Zijian (Simon) Ju is an ambitious young scholar who has shown exponential growth throughout the years, having joined the Knox community as a middle school student. Although the 2020/2021 school year presented many challenges, including the need for Zijian to complete his studies through remote learning from China, Zijian persevered in his efforts to achieve his greatest academic goal!

Zijian received an Early Decision acceptance to the renowned and prestigious New York University! NYU was Zijian’s dream school since he arrived at Knox as a 7th grader, and we are so proud that we have been a part of his journey to success!

Some of the highest accomplishments that Zijian has achieved during his extensive tenure at Knox are serving as Academic Representative on the Student Council, and his recent induction into Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) and NEHS (National English Honor Society).

Zijian is just one of many student dreams that have come to fruition at The Knox School, even in the midst of a global pandemic. His story illustrates the importance of consistency and rigor as key ingredients in one’s high school educational experience – both of which we provide at Knox for our students, who come from all over the world for an American high school experience.

In an email to the school after learning of his NYU acceptance, Zijian stated, “My parents want to give a big thanks to Knox for the invaluable education, and it has been my pleasure to be a Knox student!”

Congratulations, Zijian on your amazing accomplishment. We wish you all the best
