Since coming to Knox, Lainey has significantly improved her organization and time-management skills. As an elite athlete, it can be difficult to balance practices, academics, and friendships. Lainey feels that she has been able to successfully maintain all three at Knox. She has further excelled in her sport, made many new friends, and is thriving academically. Lainey hopes to earn a gymnastics scholarship to Rutgers University and pursue a degree in Sports Medicine. Lainey has unlimited potential and we are very excited to watch her follow her dreams and achieve her goals!
Lainey Link is a 9th grade day student at The Knox School. She loves her new Home Beside The Shore, and is enjoying her first year as a Knoxie. Lainey is a level 9 competitive gymnast who recently joined a league that could potentially lead her to a spot on the USA Olympic team! She practices 24 hours a week and still maintains exceptional grades. Lainey is a straight A student, and is also a member of the National Honor Society. She is passionate about her sport and understands the importance of a healthy balance between academics and athletics and appreciates that her teachers do as well.
With all of the foundations in place at Knox for elite athletes, Lainey feels that she has found a great balance between her academic and personal goals. “It is nice to feel the support of my teachers. They help me to keep my grades up and motivate me to achieve my personal goals, and it’s a really great feeling,” Lainey states. Lainey also loves the diversity of her fellow Knoxies and enjoys learning about their cultures and traditions. “I have never experienced so much diversity. I’ve really learned a lot and feel it has made me a more well-rounded person.”
