On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., The Knox School’s Performing Arts Department will be featured in a unique, collaborative project organized by the Verbatim Performance Lab (VPL) at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. This art-based investigation, entitled If you wanna switch seats, we could, features excerpts from the presidential debate which took place on September 29, 2020, between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and moderated by Chris Wallace.

Knox performers include Isabella Halpin, Mia Sun, Kara Kokolakis, Aaron Bogart, and Alexander Harris, with technical and production of Knox’s performed investigation by Chair of Visual and Performing Arts and Theatre Teacher Mr. Andrew Wagner. The Knox School is one of twelve middle and high schools within the mid-Atlantic region of the United States to participate in this festival.

From Behind the Scenes

Throughout this project, our students and teacher had the pleasure of collaborating with the VPL artist-researchers to explore the words and actions of the two presidential candidates and the debate moderator. We look forward to sharing their hard work with our Knox community on April 17th.
