Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope that your holiday season was filled with joy and meaningful moments spent with loved ones.

As we welcome 2025, we do so with mixed emotions. While many of us are excited for a fresh start, this new year has also been marked by a series of heartbreaking tragedies across the United States. From the devastating vehicular attack in New Orleans to the uncontrollable wildfires in California, these events serve as sobering reminders of the unpredictable and often incomprehensible forces of nature and human behavior. Time and again, we witness how these forces can be overwhelming, both in their magnitude and impact.

Here at Knox, we are fortunate to be part of a vibrant, supportive community in the peaceful Village of Nissequogue, where we can focus on our learning and growth in a secure environment. As we reflect on the safety and security we enjoy, it is important to recognize how privileged we are to live in a region that, while not free of challenges, is not currently experiencing the kinds of tragedies that have shaken other parts of the country.

Though we are fortunate to be in our “Knox bubble,” it is vital that we remember our shared humanity and the importance of supporting those in need, especially during difficult times. Whether through direct action or simply offering our thoughts, prayers, and encouragement, each of us can make a difference, even with small gestures. I am deeply proud of how our Knox community is coming together to offer support and lend a helping hand to those affected by these tragedies.

Finally, it is essential that, even in the face of hardship, we continue to celebrate the good, and showcase the positive moments and achievements that define our remarkable school community.

As we share the joy and success of our students and staff, we also hold in our hearts those who have faced difficult beginnings to 2025. We stand in solidarity with them, united by hope, strength, and the resilience that reminds us that, in time, our world will heal.
