Thoughts From The Head

A Season of Gratitude and Purpose at Knox

As we enter this season of reflection and gratitude, I find myself profoundly thankful for the people who make The Knox School such an extraordinary community. Our students, who are courageous, curious, and eager to grow, remind us daily of why our work matters. Our dedicated Faculty and Staff lead with heart and steadfast commitment to success for every student. Our Administrators  work tirelessly to ensure every Knox learner feels seen, valued, and understood. Our families place their trust in us as partners in their children’s education, and our alumni continue to champion Knox long after graduation. Each of you sustains our mission and strengthens the Knox tradition. For that, I am deeply grateful.

This spirit of connection was on full display in 2025, but in particular, during our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. Chef Carl and the CulinArt team prepared a delicious meal that brought our entire community together. Watching students, teachers, and staff gather around tables, laughing, sharing stories, and simply feeling at home, was a powerful reminder of who we are. Knox is not just a school; it is a family made up of people from around the world, a community built on compassion and belonging. Moments in time like these affirm how deeply our belief statement is lived on campus each day.

Our mission has also been especially evident in these past few weeks as our seniors and postgraduates confidently completed the college admissions process. They are interviewing with some of the nation’s most selective institutions, including Princeton, and celebrating early acceptances to outstanding universities, most of which fall within the top 100 in the nation. Their preparedness is no accident. It is the result of years of personalized guidance that is a distinct part of a Knox education, and that helps each student discover their purpose and potential. Seeing them rise to this moment gives me immense pride and gratitude. They are ready for what comes next. Mission accomplished.

As we move into the holiday break, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to every member of our Knox family. To our students, who inspire us; our faculty and staff, who shape every meaningful moment; our families, who support and partner with us; and our alumni, who continue to carry Knox forward – all of you play a vital role in making this community one to be proud of.

Thank you for the many ways you enrich the life of our school. It is an honor to lead this remarkable community, and I am truly grateful for all of you.
