A Message from the Head of School | October
As autumn arrives and our campus glows with the rich colors of the season, I am reminded of what makes The Knox School so special – the strength of our community and the depth of our connections, which are guided by compassion, and a shared sense of purpose that unites us all. How wonderful to see these principals – our mission in action – in the relationships that are being forged not just between students, but between all of us, each of whom is a unique part of the mosaic that is Knox.
With only two months of the 25/26 school year behind us, the spirit of belonging and support that we feel this October has already been beautifully evident across our campus. Our middle schoolers have formed strong bonds and look out for each other in ways that are so endearing. Seniors are fully immersed in the college application process, supported every step of the way by our dedicated College Counseling Office as they pursue admission to some of the nation’s most prestigious universities. With Mrs. Pergola’s constant encouragement, they have remained focused and determined to submit applications that are the best reflections of who they have become during their time at Knox.
Beyond academics, our students continue to connect with outside communities through leadership and kindness. From our Service Learning course and the inspiring Dig Pink volleyball event, and our participation in the Alzheimer’s Basketball Classic; to our recognition of and fundraising efforts during Domestic Violence Awareness Month – at the heart of our community is the belief that compassion and action are inseparable, and that true leadership begins with empathy and leads to purposeful impact – because this is how communities stay strong, and how authentic connections are made within them.
And finally, Fall Family Weekend reminded us of what makes The Knox School community truly exceptional. Watching families, students, and faculty come together in celebration, conversation, and shared talents was both heartwarming and affirming—proof of the strong foundation we are building together: one rooted in belonging, connection, and a shared commitment to every child’s success. As Head of School, I couldn’t ask for more than the partnerships and support that define our Knox family—support that makes these meaningful moments of community possible. Thank you for championing the Knox mission, purpose, and philosophy each day. As we move forward into the months ahead, let’s continue to honor this spirit of connection that defines who we are and strengthens everything we do at Knox.
