The Knox Difference

In the tradition of great, "small " secondary boarding and day schools, Knox enrolls fewer than 200 students in grades 6-12 each year in a community where every child is known. There simply is no "back row" at Knox. Every adult, from the Headmaster to the Administration, and from the teaching faculty to the staff, serves as a mentor, a role model, and a "parent" who understands that young people require structure, rise to standards of excellence, and thrive with constant encouragement.

Our students discover quickly that in a small school they have a voice; they have a unique opportunity to not only participate in clubs, sports, and other activities, but also to take on leadership roles that truly impact the life of the school. At Knox, students can take an A.P. course, play on the team, create a new club, and lead a classroom discussion.

We invite you to learn more about our school. Please explore our website, read all our materials, and plan on visiting us for a tour and interview. Learn more about our:

*Exceptionally small class sizes
* Superb faculty
* Honors Portfolio Program and A.P. offerings
* 100% College Placement
* Our location at the edge of Long Island Sound- just 45 minutes from New York City
* Interscholastic athletics-a full, three season program that includes Crew
* Visual and performing arts
* On-campus equestrian program
* A Family-oriented environment
* Day and Boarding (including 5-day boarding) opportunities
*Generous, need-based Financial Aid program

At Knox, we believe there is a star in all of us. Our motto is "Learn to be exceptional," and our lives in the community revolve around this charge. This means that in addition to becoming exceptional as scholars, our students learn and grow as young men and women of strong character, with a desire to serve, to listen and collaborate, and with a conviction that life is a joyous experience.
