Class of 2017
James DiBiasi entered Knox this year as a Post-Graduate student, and player for the National Preparatory Basketball Team. James’s presence on campus has greatly impacted our school culture; he can always be found engaging in campus activities, interacting positively with his peers and teachers and excelling both in the classroom and on the court. James is a co-founder of Knox’s cooking club, a member of National Honor Society and an active participant in the Knox Ninjas Social Media group. James also earned High Honors and High Effort Grades for the first trimester of classes for 2016, placing him in the top 5% of The Knox School student body.
James is extremely passionate about basketball. In addition to playing for Knox’s Prep team, he was the captain of Calhoun’s Varsity Basketball team (his previous school), helped run various basketball camps in New York City and recently helped coach his middle school’s pre-season basketball team in New Jersey. Additionally, James writes and publishes a basketball blog called iWitnessBasketball. To read some of his posts, please click here.
Academically, James is very enthusiastic about his Economics class and an English elective called “College Freshman Texts,” which gives students a preview of the work required in a college-level literature course. These two classes support his professional interests and college pursuits. Although James has not settled on a major course of study in college, his passion for sports and his academic interests support the prospect of pursuing business or sports management, or sports marketing.
The Knox School community is proud that James chose Knox for his PG year and we foresee a positive and bright future for this energetic and talented young man!
